There are 14 images in this section.In the heart of Dunwoody, Georgia, this home underwent major renovation on the inside and out in the winter of 2007. New custom cabinetry marries an island and armoire crafted with reclaimed heart pine from an old mill in South Georgia. A bead board ceiling, columns, and transoms remind us of materials from the past. Functional details like the farm sink, “antiqued” San Sebastian granite countertops, and a refurbished antique lantern hung over the island, complement the southern cottage feeling. Favorite farm hues of apple green, chocolate brown and cream welcome family and guests. An exterior facelift of paint, board & batten shutters and a new front door with planters and a window box create up fresh twist on a classic design.
There are 7 images in this section.This classic Morningside “Storybook” bungalow in the heart of Atlanta was growing too small. A second story was added to accommodate a growing family and painstaking care was applied to preserve the original character of the home. The love for culinary arts called for a major kitchen and keeping room renovation, completed in the winter of 2007. The kitchen area was designed around the brick red AGA, adding functional details like a walnut butcher-block island with ogee edge and tasked Tech Lighting. Hand glazed tile backsplash and custom cabinetry complete the aesthetic.
There are 10 images in this section.This charming Brookwood Hills bungalow in Buckhead needed a fresh, new kitchen. Subway tile grouted in a chocolate brown blend with the glaze in the custom cabinetry. Inserts were cut in between studs to create tile boxes with glass shelves to house spices & oils. Cabinetry doors and hardware hide appliances. Custom designed glass cabinetry doors as well as the farm sink add that turn of the 20th century charm. Many visitors are convinced that the kitchen was original to the home when in fact brand new.
There are 3 images in this section.This multi-year, multi-phased renovation spanned from personalizing a Dining Room and Foyer to decorating a 3rd story attic space for their daughter in vintage Lilly Pulitzer fabrics culminating in their recent renovation and expansion of a new Kitchen and Master Bath and Bedroom. The open Kitchen and Family Room is the hub of swirling activities on a small and large scale. A key focal point for the Kitchen, over the cook top, is a cluster of antique Italian tiles surrounded by brick. Other architectural and decorative points of interest include an oversized walnut Island, a vintage iron gate turned coffee table, heart pine floors and brick pavers used as mudroom flooring.
There are 16 images in this section.This Marietta yellow and white farm house surrounded by a crisply painted picket fence nestled amount shady trees is a retreat for its owners from their busy days. Family heirloom pieces of furniture dating back to the early 1900’s come from an old Victorian Mansion turned boarding house. An Oushak which lays below the large, stately dining table set the color palette of golds, bronze, creams & pale blue. Embroidered silk draperies hung from oversized 3” rods frame the French doors and windows which provide a beautiful view into nature. Their Master Suite includes a specially tailored bedspread, Crema Marfil marble flooring, shower surround and countertops, a custom 36” high vanity and garden tub all inspired by a Thibaut floral fabric & wallpaper.
There are 9 images in this section.The love of nature inspired this outdoor living space. An outdoor kitchen made of stained Lyptus wood makes entertaining easy. A stone floor partially covered by a weather resistant rug with a Walters Wicker sofa and Design Warehouse Inc. teak chairs and tables evoke the desire to curl up and read a book one spring day, join friends and watch football while sipping a cocktail on a crisp fall afternoon or snuggle under a blanket in front of the fire on a cold winter evening.
There are 3 images in this section.This newly married couple built a new house in an old established neighborhood in Atlanta but had difficulty communicating to each other their vision for the interior décor. After an initial meeting it became apparent that clean lines and tone on tone colors would dominate this transitional look. 18 feet of draperies covering 2 stories of windows partnered with Hickory Chair upholstered furniture and occasional tables. An extra long sofa table was custom made by the craftsmen at Northeast Georgia Cabinet Shop.
There are 5 images in this section.This home is a story of Yours, Mine & Ours. Two divorced parents of teenagers were neighbors in the tree filled neighborhood of Indian Hills. They feel in love, got married and combined households into one. The bulldozers came and demolished one of the houses while the family lived in the other. Less than a year later, a brand new house better suited to today’s family emerged. Coffered ceilings, stone fireplaces, wood stained craftsman style cabinetry earthen textures in tile and granite, wrought iron and painted wood stairs accented in classic earth tone paint colors give the feel having escaped to the mountains. They receive compliments regarding the exterior colors and textures from neighbors passing by constantly.
There are 4 images in this section.This newly built Virginia Highlands home by Dennis McConnell is perfect for this working family with 2 active boys. The rugs, furniture and fabrics selected for their Family Room create a comfortable environment to kick back and relax or watch TV while the children are at play underfoot. The master retreat is a gorgeous juxtaposition of ebony stained bedroom furniture with straight lines with warm colors of tans, creams and blues capped off by the lacy creamware hanging above the bed.
There are 17 images in this section.Calcutta Gold marble was the inspiration for this new kitchen. The homeowner loved this marble. Plumbing pipes which run straight through the room were once hidden by a small wall which aesthetically chopped up the space. With the new kitchen cabinetry design, the center china cabinet, which now hides the pipes, looks totally intentional, and not as if it was there to cover pipes. Antique Brass hardware, seedy glass shelves, creamy-yellow, floral valances.

The main floor consists of more traditonal "storybook" style architectural touches and English Antiques where as the terrace level is a "Loft-Industrial" look. This floor is complete with sliding barn doors, "padre brown" glazed concrete floors, a brick wall, Murphy beds hidden behind barn doors with vibrant yet earthy colors of orange, yellow and green. All these amenities and more support active children and a home office.

In fact, they have joked that they really don’t need many of the other living spaces in their home except when entertaining. The creamy white kitchen cabinetry flow with Benjamin Moore historical blue walls and highlight their collection of blue & white porcelains. An arched area with task lighting which serves as their message center disguises the telephone, pens & notepads while showcasing a digital photo book. This kitchen renovation, due to its aesthetic appeal, as well as how smoothly the construction process flowed, has created many referrals for CCW Interiors and Highland Construction.
There are 7 images in this section.One of the residents of this home has come along way from the fraternity and dorm house days of when he met my husband. The exterior renovation of adding board and batten shutters on functional hinges with a 12 light door painted in corn husk yellow transform the front façade. Meanwhile, the addition of a large screened in porch which showcases a dining area as well as a seating area. These 2 comfortable areas are inspired by a family heirloom, a red painted wicker swing, that once hung in the homeowner’s grandfather’s lake house. Memories were made on and around this swing and continue to made as this family enjoys this fabulous outdoor living space. The overlay kitchen cabinets are finished in a soft celery green with a glaze in the same tone customized by the hand glazed ceramic tiles made to look like bead board. A cupboard at the entry is made of heart pine and looks like a piece of furniture. The kitchen as well as the entire house is peppered with the owners personal artwork adding flair and personality.

From a Morningside Bungalow to an 1800’s Connecticut Farm House their transitional furniture and unique collection of art, their personality emerged in both of these homes. Bath renovations and cabinetry installations were added for resale while arched paneling in door frames, slipper chairs with pillows in the persimmon family as well as a stately “W” monogrammed on the seat back of Dining Chairs join the ranks of the family’s array of furniture and collections in their new residence.

From the window boxes outside to the pleated shades on lamps, from silk draperies to handpicked accessories, from Oushak rugs to painted furniture, from unique antiques to reproductions this couple is thoughtfully transforming their home one room at a time.
There are 3 images in this section.At the insistence of her husband, for his wife to have her dream kitchen, the plans were put into motion to gut and transform this “empty nest” kitchen. Her goal was to have an open gathering space, both Kitchen and Family Room, for their large extended family of children, their spouses and their grandchildren. Painted & glazed cabinetry topped with “antiqued” honed San Sebastian granite wrap the kitchen and columns with transoms provide an open and inviting bridge between the two rooms. The walnut stained mantle which coordinates with the newly designed and stained cabinetry that houses their wide screen TV is a focal point to all who enter. Not only is the cabinetry a focal point because it fits nicely in a home filled of woods with beautiful patinas but it is most certainly “the” focal point when the Georgia Bulldogs are playing football!

The pleasure and challenge of working with a few pieces that were inherited automatically created a sense of history and connectedness to their past. The newly selected fabrics, furniture, accessories, stair runners and lighting link the past to the present and make a distinctive statement as to their style.
There are 4 images in this section.This busy family of 5 placed their personal stamp on this Amberfield home with elegant but livable environs. The Dining and Living Rooms were inspired by the personally selected art hanging over the side board in their Dining Room. The English antique dining table with coordinating caned and barley twist chairs sit central in a room papered with dusty blue string cloth that is outlined in faux bois trim and crowned with a Visual Comfort wooden ball chandelier.
There are 8 images in this section.As you enter this circa 1920's Morningside traditional Tudor, expectations are quickly shifted as you notice the imitation "Chihuly" blown glass light fixture. It was the inspiration for the colors of fire engine red, crisp white, chocolate brown and tones of grays. The cloth lantern hanging over the square dining table surrounded by white leather chairs, a red "circles" rug and dark chocolate walls make you feel you are dining in a hip Atlanta restaurant. This contemporary flair accurately reflects the personalities of the family living here. .
There are 2 images in this section.This couple relocated their business to Atlanta from Miami and brought with them their broad mix of antiques and modern pieces mingled with interesting lighting fixtures and art. Two layers of sheers in dramatic colors of red and brown drape from brushed gold oversized hardware and adorn their Dining Room. A traditional golden yellow damask fabric with boullion fringe is the anchor fabric for the couples Master Bedroom spreads, bolster pillows and box balloon shades complete the room.
There are 3 images in this section.This resident, whom had lived in this house for years, had just returned from a 2 year stint in the Peace Corps in Africa. She had moved her personal belonging out while in Africa and rented her home. Prior to leaving the kitchen was older and needed some attention but upon returning, after being rented it became apparent that there was no time like the present to get a new kitchen. Seeing the poverty in Africa prompted her to maintain a strict budget while updating her kitchen. The pumpkin colored walls, the specialty handles, the sand colored Kohler sink and African art were unique touches that give testimony to the homeowners personality and values.

Fortunately, the family was safe but they had to move out while another one was being built. Recovering from all the decisions necessary in building a house the couple approached CCW Interiors to add personality to their home. A collection of black and cream botanicals flanking their widescreen hang above a console. On an adjacent wall a floor length mirror anchors built in’s and a pair of transitional chairs.

The addition of painted chocolate brown cabinetry in the kitchen, striped draperies and coral colored bamboo paper on the walls in the dining room and other items such as mantle accessories and inspiring quotes on the wall in their game room make bold statements about this family’s personalities and tastes.
There are 0 images in this section.Another Mark Arnold Architecture collaboration, this Morningside, Johnson Estates, home needed to expand to accommodate a Master Suite on the main floor. In the process Mark was able to squeeze a small but sufficient powder room into the plan. Tone on tone paisley wall paper, a reproduction chest to hold a glazed blue porcelain vessel sink and a vintage pendant from The Big Chandelier flow seamlessly together to create a notable room. The master suite, with its custom cabinetry, marble surfaces in the bath, alabaster custom sconces and hues of greens and tans, have become the homeowner’s favorite retreat at the end of a busy day.

Needlepoint carpet following the contours of the stairs, a hand painted “strie” thatched pattern in subtle tones on the walls and heavy blanket lined damask draperies flank the front door.

Hickory Chair upholstered chairs, ottoman and sofa are accented with an Asian print fabric on the pillows and a Dresden blue animal print on the draperies all from Travis.

The royal blue paint was inspired by the “sapphire blue” flecks of stone in their unique slab of granite. Cobalt blue pendants selected from “C” Lighting coordinate as well. The couples favorite detail was the stack stone cook top surround and backsplash inlaid with metal tiles.
